I am always hearing about how much lower the taxes are in Oklahoma. How they are going to move to Ok and save a bunch of money. My comment has always been that the car and real estate taxes are much lower but the income taxes are higher. According to the Census Bureau, the difference is $107.47. Kansas ranks #29 with the per capita tax of $1931.17 and Oklahoma is ranked as #33 with annual average tax of $1823.70. Not the big savings most imagine.
